It's no secret that InRugCo loves to create, that's why we love to build area rugs, pillows, aprons, and furniture. Along with creating within the textile world, we also love to create delicious and tasty food!
In honor of our favorite week day holiday #tacotuesday, we present a 15 minute recipe for a Mexican-style Pico de Gallo.
Ingredients
1 - Avocado
2 - Roma Tomatoes
1/2 - Lime
1/3 Cup - Chopped White Onion
1/2 Cup - Chopped Cilantro
1 - Serrano or Jalapeño (based on heat preference - Serrano is hotter)
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Salt
1/2 teaspoon Chicken Flavor Bouillon (powdered) or 1 cube crushed finely
Salt (to taste)
Step 1 - Chop Cilantro Finely
PRO TIP - Remove black cilantro leaves from bundle to avoid a bitter taste after chopping.
Step 2 - Dice Tomatoes
Step 3 - Chop Onion
Step 4 - Chop Serrano / Jalapeño
PRO TIP - Deseed the peppers to reduce the spice. If spicy food is not your thing, deseed the Jalapeño and put in 1/4 of the pepper. Remember Serrano peppers are hotter than Jalapeño peppers.
We used 1/2 a serrano and did not deseed the pepper to give the Pico a little kick.
Step 5 - Score Avocado
Slice vertically and horizontally to the skin of the avocado with a knife then scoop out with a spoon for perfectly cubed avocado.
Step 6 - Combine All Ingredients
Add Garlic Salt, Chicken Bouillon, Salt, & Lime Juice
Step 7- Stir with a Spoon & Enjoy!
